A personalised nutrition plan is a way of eating built around your goal: to lose fat, build muscle or have more energy for training. It takes into account what you eat now, when you work and train, and which foods you like. The aim is a plan you can stick to, not a strict diet for two weeks. Kaloyan Zarkov writes the plan himself, drawing on his training at the National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski” in Sofia.
What to expect
Kaloyan starts with a conversation about your goal, how you eat on an ordinary day, how much you move, and whether there are foods you don’t eat or can’t tolerate. The conversation can be in person, for example during a consultation, or by phone, message or email. It helps to write down what you eat for 2–3 days before the conversation. If you like, the plan can start with a body fat measurement, so you have a starting point to track your progress from.
The plan covers roughly how much to eat, how much protein you need and an example of how to spread your meals through the day. It also includes ideas for specific dishes. Kaloyan explains why each choice was made, so you can make your own swaps. The plan runs for 2 months, and during that time you can message Kaloyan with questions at no extra cost.
The plan works best together with a training programme. Changes in weight and body fat percentage take weeks to show, so it is worth checking your progress regularly.
Who it’s for
- You want to lose weight without going hungry.
- You train and want to build muscle or recover better.
- You have tried various diets and couldn’t stick to any of them.
- You want to know how much to eat, and what, based on your training.
If you have a condition where nutrition is part of the treatment (for example diabetes, kidney disease or an eating disorder), or you are pregnant, your diet must be set by a doctor or dietitian.
