The two treatments work on the muscle in different ways. In dry needling, Kaloyan Zarkov places a thin sterile needle directly into a tight, painful point in the muscle. It is not acupuncture. It suits pain in one specific place that keeps coming back despite massage.
In cupping therapy, the cups lift the skin and muscles with a vacuum instead of pressing on them. Cupping suits tension spread over a wider area of the back, shoulders or thighs. It leaves round marks that fade within a few days to a week.
Both are often combined with massage or kinesitherapy (exercise and manual therapy). If you don’t know which to choose, or needles worry you, tell Kaloyan or start with a consultation.
